Scented candle FAQs
Which candle size should I choose?
Choose small candles for bathrooms, bedsides and desks, or to try a new fragrance. Medium candles suit bedrooms and everyday use, and large candles give the longest burn and biggest scent throw for living rooms and open-plan spaces.
How do I get an even burn?
On the first light, let the wax melt right across to the edge of the container before blowing it out. This sets a "memory" that helps the candle burn evenly every time after, and stops it tunnelling down the middle.
How long will my candle burn?
Burn time depends on the size, and each product page lists it. Trimming the wick before every use and keeping the candle out of draughts both help it last longer.
How do I burn a candle safely?
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Place it on a heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, curtains and anything that can catch fire, and out of reach of children and pets.
Where are your candles made?
Our candles are crafted in the UK at our home in Cumbria, on the edge of the English Lake District.

We design, blend and hand-finish candles, reed diffusers, room mists and gifts that are sent out around the world. Every fragrance we create is meant to capture something of the landscape on our doorstep — the fells, the coastline, the changing seasons of Cumbria — and bring it into homes far beyond it.
